Healing Waves - iPhone & iPad App Review
Relaxing hasn't always been easy. While the actual state of relaxation is completely under your control, it is simple to get started with Healing Waves, a universal app for iPhone and iPad.
Healing Waves is quite simple. In essence, it is a media player app designed to play a limited number of relaxing tracks. The app isn't free and for $1.99 it comes with only 6 tracks, which is not a great deal. Although if you consider that each additional album, which I believe to be 6 tracks (it may in fact be more) is $3.99, this doesn't seem like too bad of a deal. Each track is about 6-7 minutes in length so for the initial price of $1.99 you get roughly 45 minutes of relaxation. You may be wondering though, can't I just load my own relaxing music on my device and create playlists, organize songs and have significantly more control over my music? And the answer is, yes, of course you can. So with that in mind, let's compare this to a similar relaxation CD you can purchase on iTunes. The average price is $9.99. For this you get roughly 45 tracks averaging about 4 minutes. This equates to 180 minutes for 10 dollars, which is actually 36 minutes for 2 dollars.
Healing Waves is ideal for those who have some money to spend on relaxing music and don't really care about the full control you get from your iPod player. However, if you are interested in variety and playlist control, you may be better off purchasing an album on iTunes. Either way, Healing Waves has some excellent music for a relatively inexpensive price. I encourage you to check out Healing Waves on the App Store for your relaxation needs.
